Darrens mk4, the finale....

Darrens (G-werks) mk4 has been with us this week for some audio, the brief was an understated build which incorporated and under floor enclosure for a subwoofer/hidden amp and front door speakers.

Not as straight forward as it sounds considering there was a fantastic install already in the car built by the guys at plush automotive respectively, ive got to give it to these lads there work was fantastic. Unfortunately it had no audio in it so we decided to shift everything round to get some sound in here!

What we wanted to deliver was a very well sounding ...

Coming soon...

This has just been delivered, the infamous G werks mk4...

Keep an eye out...

Shakey.

Black, white.....

And soon to be 'read' all over....

So about a month ago this turned up -

tosh's mk2, originally a valver to have an Abf installed in the most subtlest of ways and have some fitment, new lines and all the jazz... some powder coating had been done subframes/wisbones arb etc before it got here -

so i stripped it down and got on with refurbishing the servo/master cylinder and running tucked lines etc

then got the donor engine apart and got the powder coating sorted,

at this point VW where called and all new bolts were ordered, on ...

The Perfect Finish?

Well another batch of coating has come back from the wheel specialist, and i must say these guys just keep excelling themselves.

this particular batch is my own, for my car. The colour is "Advan grey metallic" and i think its close enough to be oe, but far away enough to look custom, a mix i've been trying to pull in with the whole car.

check a couple of pictures out of what iive collected this week, hopefully the pics will portray just how good this stuff is.

a close up of my brake calliper -

another of my callipers ...

Oem+ modifying, the best way?

In my opinion yes, but everyone has their own opinions on how cars are modified, that's for a whole other post!

Here we have my friend Matt's bora, still in early doors but has started off so right i just love having it around. Matt nipped by Saturday not only to clean his car but to show us his trim he had just finished installing fresh back from trim delux and i took the opportunity to get it indoors and take a few pictures..

Using all "oe" parts his made a lovely daily car. Future plans include wheels ...

MAD week...

Well its been a week of...

Infamous pink wheels....

plentiful trips to trim delux!

MASSIF trucks from detailer paul amongst plenty of others..

an e46 m3 monster was added to the SIC family...

===============

What a week!! so, along with the last teaser post i now have to update you with all of these teasers also! to much work not enough time.. Bare with me and i'll try and bash through a few tomorrow.

Thanks for looking,

Shakey..

COMING SOON...

With pro detailer on board (paul @ Hampshire vehicle detialing) we wont be dirty any time soon.. Full write ups to follow..

Some serious changes to my own mk2, should make for some decent reading.

A 20v (BAM code) mk2 gets a dose of good noise...

Danny's mk1 leaves the workshop!!!

=====================

This months been huge, so ive got a back log of things to blog through, im hoping to get through them over the next week so keep posted for the write ups guys.

Joes mk3...

Project procrastination!!!

Joe (a personal friend) likes nothing better than to procrastinate, hence the ample project name!! he popped in to see us on saturday so we could logo and build a false floor (at his request wich was nice) ..

I thought it would be rude not to get a few shot's off...

So here, full JL audio install (notice a pattern here?) custom enclosure in an oe carpeted finish.. doesn't sound half bad either.

didn't get any shots of the door builds housing the JL audio c5 front speakers.. always a next time with Joe!!

Shakey.

Project - Ground up ^

About 6 weeks ago nick contacted me to see if i could take on what couldn't be finished of his engine conversion on the drive, in the minus temperatures.. Nicks been plugging away having a go with various parts of the mk2 here and there but never in an ideal location (outside, on the drive) and also working around full-time education plus work.... Something had to give...

A date was agreed and i arranged trailor collection of the none running mk2 to be delivered down here for completion. Heres what we faced,

Now being a mk2 nut personally i ...
